10th SCO summit wraps up in Tashkent, leaders ink several documents
10th session of the Council of heads of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization
(SCO) member states ended in the Uzbek capital city of Tashkent. Leaders of the
SCO member countries signed a number of documents on results of the session.
Participants of the summit exchanged views on the actual regional and
international problems, discussed issues of further strengthening broad
cooperation within the SCO, increase of its international authority.
summit participants also exchanged opinions on the wide range of topical, urgent
problems of strengthening mutual understanding, stability and security in the
world, sustainable development of countries and regions.
documents signed by the SCO member states are decisions on the approval of the
Regulations on the order of acceptance new SCO members, on the approval of the
Rules of SCO procedure, on the approval of the Report of the SCO Secretary
General on the Organization's activity in the past year, as well as on the
approval of the Report of the Council of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist
Structure on its activity in 2009.
Heads of foreign affairs ministries
of the SCO member states inked the Agreement on the cooperation among the
goverments of the SCO member states in fight against crime, and the Agreement
among the governments of the SCO member states on the cooperation in the field
