Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Latvia signed a package of interstate agreements on 28 May 2014 after the negotiations between Presidents of two nations.
As reported earlier, President of Latvia Andris Berzins arrived in Uzbekistan on 27 May with an official visit at the invitation of President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.
After the talks, President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov and President of Latvia Andris Berzins signed a joint statement of the heads of the states.
Ministry of Culture and Sport Affairs of Uzbekistan and Ministry of Culture of Latvia inked a programme on cooperation for 2014-2016.
Ministries of economies of Uzbekistan and Latvia also signed a memorandum on cooperation in the sphere of renewable energy.
Uzbekistan and Latvia inked an agreement on abolishment of visa requirements to holders of diplomatic passports.
